What information will I get from a company or business express search?

You can do a company or business express search on all companies and businesses in Australia, and you’ll receive:

• search of public record data on that company/business
• where available, an Equifax on-file company/business name search
• search of the Equifax database
• where available, a credit score based on the analysis of the entire Equifax database, including public record.

How are credit scores calculated?

Credit scores analyse over 250 characteristics according to the industry-accepted and proven statistical processes. The Equifax scorecard outlines key contributing factors impacting on the assessment such as:

• history of type of credit sought
• number of enquiries
• shopping pattern
• company information
• age of file and pattern of enquiries
• industry characteristics
• director derogatory information
• default information
• court writ information.

What information should I enter as search criteria?

Enter the following in your search:

• company/business name
• company type
• ACN/ARBN or ABN
• property
• unit number
• street number, name, and type
• suburb, state and postcode.

What information should I enter in the Property field?

If the property has a name, enter it here.

Can I enter information in the Street type field without using ‘Select code’?

You can enter information into any of the fields without using ‘Select code’.

Why has a browse list returned that doesn’t list the company or business I searched?

This means that a partial match is found. The list contains a selection of possible companies/businesses that may match the search criteria.

At this point, no charges apply. Either select the match that you require or return to the organisation details screen.

What if no result returns for my search?

If no results match the criteria you’ve entered, a message will display advising of an invalid ACN/ARBN or ABN, and no charge will apply.

Entering more information can refine your search and return a match.
